YouTube once again has allowed the Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade, the terrorist wing of the Fatah party headed by Mahmoud Abbas, to incite murdering Jews while blocking the exact same video that a media watchdog group posted with Hebrew subtitles.
You Tube apparently does not consider the publicizing of threats to kidnap, kill, and bomb Israelis to be incitement so long as it is done in the Arabic language on Fatah’s official Facebook Pages.
If you click here for the Hebrew version, and then press on the line to see the video, this message appears: “This video has been removed as a violation of You Tube’s policy prohibiting hate speech.”
Perhaps YouTube blocked the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) posting with subtitles in Hebrew because it would be hate speech for Arabs who, seeing the message in Hebrew, might be driven to murder Jews.
Or perhaps YouTube is more worried that Hebrew-speaking anti-Zionists will be incited to murder fellow Jews.
It has no trouble with English’s speakers. Maybe the English version is not hate speech but simply is the language of the “resistance,” with such peace partner language as, “Bombard them with your fire and shoot them.”
The video continues, “Praise Allah, our Jihad fighters have managed to develop these rockets so they will reach the Zionist depth [Israel]… We in the Al-Aqsa Brigades are preparing to kidnap Zionist soldiers to settle accounts with the Zionist enemy… Be like Yasser [Arafat] – do not fear them. Death is in your cup – make them drink… With these rockets we will crush the Zionist enemy.”
YouTube’s policy states on its site, “While it might not seem fair to say you can’t show something because of what viewers might do in response, we draw the line at content that intends to incite violence or encourage dangerous or illegal activities that have an inherent risk of serious physical harm or death. Videos that we consider to encourage dangerous or illegal activities include instructional bomb making, choking games, hard drug use, or other acts where serious injury may result.”
Unless Fatah posts the clip.
This is not the first time PMW’s documentation has been impeded by YouTube. In the past, PMW videos have been blocked and PMW’s YouTube account has been closed down. This happened when PMW exposed hate speech voiced by the Palestinian Authority mufti, who preached that the destiny of Muslims is to kill Jews, and again recently when PMW exposed a PA TV broadcast of a young girl reciting a poem referring to Jews as “Allah’s enemies, the sons of pigs,” who “murdered children,” “cut off their limbs,” “raped the women in the city squares” and “defiled Allah’s book.”
YouTube was contacted by viewers and PMW videos and accounts were later unblocked each time.
As this is being published, the Hebrew site remains blocked.
