Israeli sunglasses chain Carolina Lemke Berlin has announced that American reality TV star Kim Kardashian West has signed a deal to join Israeli model Bar Refaeli as the face of the company.
Kardashian West, whom the sunglasses company described on Wednesday as “the most famous woman in the United States,” has signed on for at least two years, beginning in the Summer of 2019.
On Wednesday, Refaeli posted a photo with Kardashian West captioned, “Friends & now partners! @kimkardashian joined my @carolinalemkeberlin family. Welcome my love!”
In a statement, the chain said that the famous celebrity would be visiting the country in March for cooperation and work-related reasons and that there are plans in place for her to design her own line of glasses for a limited edition series, which will be sold by Carolina Lemke.
It added that it will also launch a website to sell its products in the U.S. and not just remain limited to the Israeli and European market.
Carolina Lemke also confirmed that Kardashian West will retain 10 percent of a U.S. subsidiary, which will oversee Carolina Lemke’s operations in America starting from the second quarter of 2019. She will also receive five percent of profits generated from U.S. glasses sales.
Kardashian West has a massive social media following with 114 million on Instagram and over 60 million Twitter fans.
The superstar has visited Israel in the past, most notably in 2015, when she and her husband brought their daughter to be baptized in an Armenian Church in Jerusalem.
