Professor Amir Hetsroni

Professor Amir Hetsroni, on Sunday lost his lawsuit against a candy and nuts store that allegedly refused to sell him coffee, Divuach Rishoni reported.

In 2014, Prof. Hetsroni was dismissed by Ariel University for “conduct inappropriate for a member of the faculty,” over comments he had made that insulted women and other groups. Hetsroni insisted at the time that the real reason for his dismissal were his political views. On the same week of his dismissal, Hetsroni had written an opinion piece in Haaretz protesting “undeniable attempts by academic management to prevent students and faculty from speaking their minds and punishing those who protest against the war.”

“The proximity in timing between the piece that I wrote against silencing people in Ariel and the unsubstantiated announcement of my dismissal shows the university’s lack of good faith,” Hetsroni told Ha’aretz.

Now Prof. Hetsroni, a Mass Communication expert, lost a suit against a candy and nuts store in the town of Lod, in which he accused the latter of refusing to sell him coffee beans, also because of his controversial views.

Kfar Saba Magistrate Court Judge Meirav Ben-Ari rejected the claim, saying she did not see there a case of illegal discrimination. She also ordered Prof. Hetsroni to pay the court costs of roughly $1,500.

Whom will our hapless Mass Communication expert accuse next of rejecting him for his controversial views?
