Yamina faction leader Ayelet Shaked called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday to stop cannibalizing the right ahead of this week’s upcoming national elections.
Shaked also called on the right not to fall for what she referred to as Netanyahu’s “Gevalt!” campaign.
The tough-talking right wing leader also called on US President Donald Trump and the Israeli prime minister to both lay out their cards, and to “show the map” before this week’s elections.
During Sunday’s government cabinet meeting — held in the Jordan Valley — Netanyahu spoke of a three-point strategic plan to apply sovereignty to the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea region of Megilot, as well as apply Israeli law to the rest of Judea and Samaria, “as soon as the next government is established in the next Knesset.”
Netanyahu said he is also planning to announce his annexation plan for 31 Jewish communities to be located in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley, immediately following the establishment of a new Israeli government — assuming he is heading that government — guaranteeing Israeli military control in those areas.
In addition he said he would announce a pledge by Trump to sign a mutual defense treaty with Israel. Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz said, however, during an interview with Galei Tzahal Army Radio, that such a treaty would only be applicable to the Iranian security threat to Israel.
