Israel’s health ministry on Sunday morning reported that the number of coronavirus patients in Israel had risen to 945, an increase of 62 patients since Shabbat. 20 of the patients are in severe condition, 24 in moderate condition, and the remainder in light condition. 37 of the patients have recovered and were released from quarantine conditions.
297 patients were admitted to hospitals, 334 patients are in home isolation and 97 are in hotels that were converted to house coronavirus patients. 169 patients are yet to find an approved facility.
According to Ma’an, Undersecretary of the health ministry in the Gaza Strip, Yousef Abu Al-Rish, announced on Saturday night that two citizens who returned from Pakistan last Thursday had been infected with the coronavirus. He stressed in a press conference that these two patients had not entered the Gaza Strip, and were in isolation in the Rafah field hospital.
Abu Al-Rish insisted that no cases of the virus had been recorded inside the Gaza Strip. He recommended to citizens in Gaza to limit their movements and follow the protection and safety guidelines.
The Gaza authorities have issued orders to close down restaurants, cafés and halls, and to suspend Friday prayers until further notice.
In the Palestinian Authority there are 53 known cases, with 17 of them, in Bethlehem declared in recovery.
