The IDF captured a Palestinian Islamic Jihad post in Gaza, compete with a battery of rockets ready for launch. November 17 2023

Israeli military forces and Shin Bet intelligence agents have eliminated the commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s Rocket Unit in northern Gaza.

According to a joint IDF-Shin Bet statement, at the beginning of December the Israeli Air Force carried out a surgical strike to eliminate Islamic Jihad commander Anas Muhammad Sa’adi Masri.

The terror commander was responsible for leading and executing numerous attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers.

Both on and since October 7, 2023, Sa’adi Masri commanded rocket attacks fired from northern Gaza at communities in southern Israel.

Prior to the strike, numerous steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions, intelligence, and aerial surveillance.

Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for a rocket attack fired at southern Israel on Monday night from northern Gaza. The Israeli Air Force intercepted both rockets. No injuries were reported.
