The IDF spokesperson on Thursday afternoon announced that Israeli forces attacked four terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip. The attack was carried out in response to high-trajectory fire at an IDF post in the northern Gaza Strip.
The spokesperson reiterated that Israel sees the Hamas terror organization as responsible for anything happening in the Gaza Strip.
Some 15 mortar shells were fired Thursday from the Gaza Strip at the IDF post at the perimeter fence in the northern Gaza Strip, without casualties. IDF tanks fired at the source, followed by the IAF attack on four positions of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
A red alert was heard in the area.
According to the instructions of the security forces, railway operations between Ashkelon and Sderot in southern Israel was stopped.
After about two hours, security forces allowed a return to routine operations and the train traffic resumed.
