U.S. Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt took aim on Twitter Tuesday at the Palestinian Authority, after the Ramallah government condemned a condolence visit by U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman to a young widow whose husband was stabbed to death last week in the community of Adam by a Palestinian Authority teen terrorist.
“The PA chose not to condemn the heinous murder of Yotam Ovadia (not surprising),” wrote Greenblatt in his tweet, “but instead condemned @USAMBIsrael for conveying @POTUS’s condolences and trying to bring comfort to Yotam’s widow, orphans & parents whose only son was murdered in cold blood by a terrorist.
“… Amb. Friedman’s visit was not about politics,” Greenblatt’s tweet continued. “As my dear friend & colleague @USAmbIsrael said “Nothing more to say”!
Greeblatt’s final statement was a reference to Friedman’s earlier tweet, describing his shiva (condolence) visit to the young widow, her two young children and her in-laws — and the subsequent condemnation by the Palestinian Authority.
