A family in the southern Israeli community of Moshav Beit Ha’Gadi, near Netivot, called the Israel Police bomb squad Sunday after two arson balloons launched from Gaza were found at their home tangled in tree branches.
The two balloons, both carrying suspected incendiary devices, landed in the backyard, according to Ynet.
Three arson balloons carrying firebombs (Molotov cocktails) from Gaza were also found Sunday tangled up in a tree, near the southern Israeli city of Sderot. Residents called firefighters and security personnel to the scene.
Shortly after, Arab media reported that an attack drone targeted a Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad military post in central Gaza.
At least 21 fires were started by arson kites and balloons launched by Gaza terrorists at southern Israel on Sunday. The flames actually closed down the main entrance to one of the kibbutzim in the Eshkol Regional Council district. Hundreds of turkeys died of smoke inhalation caused by one of the blazes.
Three fires raged in the Kissufim Forest in the northwestern Negev; one erupted on the Gaza border. Firefighters spent hours working to get the flames under control.
