Israeli artillery on Thursday shelled a terrorist posts in the southern Gaza Strip, Ma’an reported.
The artillery reportedly shot at least two shells at the Hamas military post Sufa, east of Rafah. There were no reports of casualties.
Israel has announced it would continue to attack targets in Gaza with the aim of halting the firing of explosive balloons from across the border at nearby Israeli settlements.
On Wednesday, the IAF bombed the perimeter of the Gaza port in response to a rocket and dozens of explosive balloons that had been shot into Israeli territory throughout the day.
Meanwhile, Arab media reported that an Egyptian intelligence delegation had entered the Gaza Strip as part of the efforts to calm down the emerging conflict between Israel and Hamas. The delegation, headed by General Omar Hanafi, deputy head of Egyptian intelligence, had visited the Gaza Strip on Monday and now entered a second time, possibly to prevent violent riots along the border on Friday.
