The IDF Navy intercepted a European ship, renamed the “al-Awda”, that was attempting to break the blockade on Gaza on Sunday afternoon. This latest “flotilla” to Gaza began with three ship. One dropped out early on, the second hasn’t yet approached the blockade.
The boat was diverted to nearby Ashdod port and the anti-Israel activists were told that if they actually had any humanitarian aid on board, it could be transferred to Gaza via the Ashdod port. it is unlikely they have any significant amount of aid on board.
It appears Israel will seize and sell the boat, transferring the money to victims of Arab terror in Israel.
The blockade is in place to prevent Hamas, the terrorist organization that controls Gaza, from importing missiles, heavy weapons and other materials for terror attacks. Israel allows in all humanitarian aid.
