The Rocket Alert went off in Kissufim, in the Eshkol region near the Gaza border on Sunday at 9:45 AM.
UPDATE: On IDF radio, it was originally reported that the IDF said that no damage or injuries were reported and the IDF did not yet know where the rocket landed.
The IDF now reports that the Rocket Alert was a false alarm, which in IDF lexicon can mean that the rocket may have fallen short and didn’t land in Israel, and the siren should not have gone off.
If there was an attempt to launch a rocket or mortar at Israel, perhaps it was launched to celebrate the appointment of Ismail Haniyeh as head of Hamas terrorist organization.
Or maybe the Gazans are upset that Israel has not cut off all the electrical power to Gaza after the Palestinian Authority decided to stop paying the bills – and Israel decided it will still collect the payments from the PA anyway.
