IDF soldiers demolished a four-story building Friday night belonging to the family of Islam Abu Hamid, the Palestinian Authority Arab who murdered Staff Sergeant Ronen Lubarsky when he dropped a marble slab on his head during an operation in the Al-Omari refugee camp last May.
The IDF said violent riots erupted when Arabs threw stones at IDF forces who employed riot control means to disperse them.
Forces from the “Duvdevan” unit in which Lubarsky served and who were also involved in locating and capturing Abu Hamid in June were involved in Friday night’s operation, the IDF said.
Arab sources report that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has already ordered the home rebuilt.
