Improvised explosive device (IED) attached to incendiary balloon landed in Rosh Tzurim in Gush Etzion on Jewish holiday of Sukkot, Sept. 27 2018

An incendiary balloon reached the Judean Jewish community of Rosh Tzurim on Thursday, located in the very heart of Gush Etzion. IDF sappers were summoned to defuse the explosive.

It’s not yet clear where the terrorist cell behind the balloon launch was based, since Gush Etzion is quite a distance from Gaza, about 75 kilometers or 46 miles from the northernmost part of Gaza to Bethlehem, south of Efrat and southwest of the Gush Etzion junction and Rosh Tzurim.
