Yisrael Beiteinu chairman MK Avigdor Lieberman this week slammed the Joint Arab List MKs and called for preventing them from participating in the April elections.
The background to the former DM’s harsh statement was Makor Rishon’s report on visits by Arab MKs to the home of Israeli Arab Mahmoud Jabareen, a recently released terrorist who continues to support the fight against Israel.
Jabareen, a resident of Umm al-Fahm, was released a few weeks ago from Israeli security prison after serving 30 years behind bars for the murder of Ahmed Ja’arura, a suspected of collaborator with Israeli authorities.
Arabs began to celebrate from the moment of his release, in Umm al-Fahm as well as in the Palestinian Authority, which a few weeks ago awarded Jabareen a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his “sacrifice” in an Israeli prison.
Among his PA hosts were Chairman Abbas’ deputy Mahmoud al-Awal, Kadura Fares and Muhammad al-Madani, who is the PA liaison to Israel.
In his interviews with Arab media, Jabareen declared: “Palestinian victory is very close.”
Israeli Arab MKs and other leaders of the Arab community in Israel were also beside themselves with praises for Jabareen. The terrorist’s home in Umm al-Fahm was been visited by both the Hadash and Ta’al parties. MK Yusef Jabareen and Mohammad Nafaa, a senior member of the Communist Party, also visited him, as did MK Masoud Ghanaim of the Ra’am Party, who was accompanied by Chairman of the Arab Monitoring Committee Muhammad Barakeh and senior committee member Muhammad Kanana.
Senior members of the Islamic movement also came to pay homage, as did the Mufti of Jerusalem.
MK Ahmad Tibi visited the Jabareen family when their murderer son was in prison.
MK Avigdor Liberman says that these actions of the Arab MKs prove that they belong to the terror campaign against the Jewish State.
“All these visits to the terrorist’s home, especially by elected officials, including Knesset members and the head of the monitoring committee prove that they are a fifth column, people who are part of a terrorist campaign that is acting against Israel,” Liberman said, and called for preventing the Joint Arab List from running in the coming elections:
“The authorities in the State of Israel must stop all contact with the Monitoring Committee, headed by Muhammad Baraka, and prevent the joint list from participating in the Knesset elections,” Liberman urged.
