President Donald Trump’s national security adviser on Wednesday said that Israeli settlements will keep expanding because the growing anti-Semitism around the world will result in more Jews immigrating to Israel.

O’Brien is President Trump’s fourth National Security Advisor. In 2017, he was under consideration by the Trump administration to serve as Secretary of the Navy. O’Brien took office as the 28th United States National Security Advisor on September 18, 2019, replacing John Bolton, who resigned earlier that month. He was raised a Catholic, but converted to the Mormon Church in his twenties.
Speaking at the Meridian International Center on Wednesday, O’Brien defended Trump’s peace plan, conceding that it is not “perfect,” but urging the PA to join the negotiations of the proposed deal, which he believes would turn the future Palestinian state into “Singapore of the Middle East.”
And we thought Israel was already Singapore of the Middle East…
“This could be the last opportunity for a two-state solution,” O’Brien said. “The Israeli birth rate is strong and is growing because, sadly, anti-Semitism in Europe and other places around the world is encouraging more Jews to return to Israel. The settlements are going to continue to expand, if this freeze on settlements doesn’t hold. If this peace process doesn’t work, it may be physically impossible to have a two-state solution.”
