Hebron businessman Ashraf Jabari has a “new” vision for the future of the Palestinian Authority.
Jabari heads the “Judea Samaria Regional Development Financing Initiative” (RDFI) and the Judea-Samaria Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JSC), together with Avi Zimmerman, an Israeli.
He is currently in Bahrain to attend the US-sponsored Peace to Prosperity workshop in Manama, leading a delegation of businessmen from the PA.
The delegation came to the summit to “learn if it is possible to improve the economic and social situation, which is rapidly deteriorating in the PA,” Jafari told TPS in the interview.
TPS sat with Jabari to hear about his new political party and his vision for the future of the PA.
Jabari is often presented as a moderate and someone with whom peace can be made, but there was very little that was moderate in the positions he laid down during the interview, other than fighting the corruption within the PA.
Jabari says that Oslo [Accords] are an illusion and accomplished nothing for the “Palestinian people”.
He said he will not accept any alternative lands for his state, not in Jordan, not outside of Jordan.
He will not accept “refugees” receive foreign citizenship [as part of a solution]. He rejected any confederations.
He is calling for either a Palestinian State along the 1967 lines, with Jerusalem as its capital, or a one state solution with Israel [editor: which would be the next step to making Israel disappear].
