Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met at his office in Jerusalem on Wednesday with senior White House adviser and son-in-law to U.S. President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner (who arrived in Israel on Wednesday morning), Trump Special Representative to International Negotiations Jason D. Greenblatt, and U.S. Ambassador to Israel David M. Friedman.
Kushner preceded the meeting with a condolence call first to the home of murdered Border Guard Policewoman Hadas Malka, z’l, who was stabbed to death by a Palestinian Authority Arab terrorist on Friday just before the start of the Sabbath while standing guard at the Damascus Gate entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem. He paid his respects to her parents, who were sitting “shiva” in their home at Moshav Givat Ezer in central Israel.
Kushner leaves Israel within 24 hours. Nevertheless, he was also slated to meet with Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas. Greenblatt is scheduled to remain through Thursday and continues his meetings with both sides as the president’s envoys continue their pursuit of Trump’s hopes for a reboot of the Israel-PA peace talks this autumn.
