On Saturday, the Russian Foreign Ministry posted on its Facebook page a fake audio file of an automated switchboard message one will now be hearing when calling one’s local Russian embassy, AP reported on Saturday.

“To arrange a call from a Russian diplomat to your political opponent, press 1,” the message says, in Russian and English. “Press 2 to use the services of Russian hackers,” and “Press 3 to request election interference.”

According to AP, a ministry duty officer who maintained his or her anonymity, confirmed that it was an “official joke.”
