Britain’s Foreign Secretary David Cameron issued a statement Wednesday in support of Israel’s position that the terrorist group Hamas must be dismantled.
“Hamas can have no future in Gaza,” Cameron said.
The British minister also applauded his country’s decision earlier in the day to impose new financial sanctions on Hamas affiliates around the world, a move joined by the United States.
“Today’s sanctions on Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad will continue to cut off their access to funding and isolate them further,” he said.
“We will continue to work with partners to reach a long-term political solution so that Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace,” added Cameron.
Britain is not the only European nation to begin realizing the nature of the Iranian-backed terrorist organization.
Moreover, some nations are also coming to the realization that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is no friend to the average Gazan civilian.
The Swiss National Council voted Tuesday to cut funding to UNRWA amid mounting international concerns over the group’s activities in Gaza.
The decision by the lower house of the Swiss Federal Assembly, which needs to be approved in the upper chamber, the Council of States, comes amid a groundswell of reports of terror ties among UNRWA officials following the Oct. 7 Hamas massacre.
The reports include an eyewitness account of an UNRWA schoolteacher holding one of the Israeli hostages in the basement of his Gaza home and the discovery of missiles and other weapons hidden among UNRWA relief supplies.
In addition, Israel Defense Forces have photographed and filmed Hamas terror operatives blocking Gaza civilians from moving to the safe zone to avoid combat.
The terrorists have also been photographed and filmed preventing Gaza civilians from accessing humanitarian supplies — food, water, medicines and other items — sent to UNRWA for distribution by sympathetic nations and international aid organizations. In some cases, the terrorists have been seen beating and shooting Gaza civilians to deny them access to the badly-needed supplies.
