US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley addresses UN Security Council

The United Nations General Assembly is set to vote on a United States-sponsored resolution on Thursday afternoon that condemns Gaza’s ruling Hamas terror organization for its rocket attacks on Israel and its misuse of civilian resources for military purposes.

The resolution also demands an end to the violence perpetrated by Hamas and other Gaza terrorist groups, such as the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror organization.

So far, the European Union has said it will support the resolution, according to a report published by The Tower.

It is not entirely clear whether a simple majority will suffice for passage of the resolution, or whether a two-thirds majority will be required for approval by the UN General Assembly.

The resolution is expected to be the final gesture of support for Israel by outgoing U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley.
