IDF medics in the Philippines, devastated by Typhoon Haiyan, have delivered a 34-week-old premature baby who was in distress. A video of the IDF field hospital in action to deliver the baby can be seen below.
One of every three Filipinos treated by the IDF since the 148-member team of officers and soldiers arrived last week has been a child, and the first baby that was delivered was named “Israel” by the parents.
The rescue team includes, doctors, nurses, lab technicians, psychiatrists, social psychologists, search and rescue workers., who brought with them 100 tons of equipment, including wheelchairs, ultrasounds, diapers, medication and even refrigerators.
