The IDF is updating its wages for enlisted men and women starting February 1, with an annual addition of $150 million, raising the overall walking around money they receive— in lieu of a real salary—by 50% compared to 2015.
The monthly pay for combat enlisted soldiers will rise from $271.87 to $407.94, while logistical support enlisted soldiers will go up from $197.91 to $296.87 a month. Homefront enlisted soldiers will go up from $136.32 to $204.47 every month.
The raises represent an overall increase of 130% since 2013. They also mean that soldiers from middle class homes can survive their service a great deal better than their poor brothers and sisters.
