A suspect charged with transferring hundreds of thousands of shekels to finance terrorist activities in Judea and Samaria has been arrested in a joint operation overnight between Monday and Tuesday by Border Guard Police special forces, Israel Police and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet).
The suspect was arrested at the Meitar Crossing, about 10 minutes from Be’er Sheva and south of Hebron. A search revealed more than NIS 500,000 in cash in the suspect’s car, which he allegedly planned to hand over to terrorist operatives.
Following his arrest, security forces searched the suspect’s home in the Israeli Negev Bedouin town of Tel Sheva, also not far from Be’er Sheva, where they found additional large sums of cash. The suspect’s father was also arrested.
