Israel Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon

Israel’s Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon was elected to be a vice-president of the next UN General Assembly.

He will begin his term in September and serve for one year.

Danon was elected as a representative of the Western European and Others (WEOG) regional group.

Danon wrote on his Facebook page that, “this appointment proves that Israel can participate in any position in the UN, and the obsessive attempts to prevent this won’t succeed. I’m proud to represent Israel in this important position.”
