Prime Minister Naftali Bennett left in the middle of the Cabinet meeting on Sunday upon learning that his daughter tested positive for Coronavirus. The meeting was taken over by Deputy Minister Gideon Sa’ar. The meeting is being held on the Golan Heights today.
Before the meeting, all the ministers and the prime minister’s staff underwent a Covid test, and one of Bennett’s staffers tested positive. That staffer was not near the prime minister. Other staff members who were in contact with the infected staffer did not join the meeting.
Bennett will undergo a PCR test, and until he gets an answer, he will be in quarantine at home – separate from his daughter.
In addition, the daughter of Education Minister Yifat Shasha-Biton also tested positive. The minister is also entering quarantine.
Both their daughters were vaccinated.
