“In light of the security situation, community leaders gathered tonight at the Kiryat Gat emergency operation center, despite the lack of special instructions from the Home Front Command,” read an announcement posted on social media outlets on Tuesday evening.

“It was decided that all public shelters throughout the city would open during the next hour. We recommend that the occupants of the shared buildings open the shelters in the buildings and, if necessary, remove equipment from them in order to allow them a comfortable stay.
