Wushu is a martial art and full-contact sport developed in China after 1949, in an effort to standardize the practice of traditional Chinese martial arts, following even earlier attempts to structure the various martial arts traditions, back in 1928. The term wushu is Chinese for “martial arts.” The International Wushu Federation (IWUF) holds the World Wushu Championships every two years.
Israeli Athlete Anastasia Kirilyuk, one of the best in the world in this field, was awarded a gold medal as European Champion, as well as a silver medal.
The Israeli team was assembled following qualifying competitions.
