MDA personnel responding to a terror attack in Jerusalem (archive)

An Israeli border policeman, age 38, was wounded in a terror attack in the Old City of Jerusalem, on Thursday, just before noon.

The police spokesman says the policeman was shot in the arm by the terrorist. According to medical personnel, the policeman is conscious and lightly wounded. He was taken to Sharei Tzedek Medical Center.

The terrorist was shot and killed by other policemen at the scene.

The terrorist has been identified as an Israeli-Arab resident of Haifa.

The attack happened near the Lion’s Gate, next to the Temple Mount.

Police have shut down the Temple Mount as Arabs began rioting following the attack.
