Knife used by attacker at Damascus Gate, March 13, 2017.

Two Border Guard officers were injured in a stabbing attack at the Lions’ Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem at 4:30 AM Monday. One sustained medium level wounds, the other light. The stabbing terrorist was shot dead, the Police spokesperson’s office reported.

The attacker, a resident of Jabel Mukaber, a predominantly Arab neighborhood in south-eastern Jerusalem, entered the Border Guard post of Lion’s Gate where the two officers were stationed, and pulled out a knife. In the struggle that ensued he managed to stab both officers. One officers managed to exit the post, train his weapon on the attacker and shoot him dead. Both officers sustained injuries in their heads and arms. They were evacuated to the Hadassah Ein Kerem medical Center.
