An ongoing counterterror operation in the Jenin refugee camp represents a change in the Israel Defense Force’s “security concept” in Judea and Samaria, Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Wednesday morning.
“Operation ‘Iron Wall’ in the Jenin refugee camp will be a change in the IDF’s security concept in Judea and Samaria,” Katz said.
“A massive operation to eliminate terrorists and terrorist infrastructure in the camp – without the recurrence of terrorism into the camp after the operation ends – the first lesson from the system of repeated raids in Gaza.”
The raid, launched on Tuesday, follows a failed crackdown in the camp by the Palestinian Authority Security Services.
“We will not allow the Iranian octopus and radical Sunni Islam to endanger the lives of the residents and establish a terrorist eastern front against the State of Israel. We will strike the octopus’s arms with force until they are severed.”
