PM Binyamin Netanyahu went from temporarily suspending the deal with the UN, in which Israel would deport 16,250 illegal infiltrators to Western countries while legalizing the rest, to officially cancelling the entire agreement.
After announcing the agreement yesterday, there was a very loud outcry from Netanyahu’s coalition partners, and Netanyahu quickly backtracked and announced he was suspending the agreement. But that didn’t end the very vocal criticism of the deal which would have left tens of thousands of illegal infiltrators still in Israel, and enticed more to join them.
At the UN they said they were surprised by Netanyahu’s complete cancellation of the deal and hope Israel will reconsider.
Germany and Italy announced they were unaware of the deal with the UN, and within Germany there was an outcry against accepting illegal infiltrators that Israel couldn’t handle.
