Rocket crossing!

The rocket alert went off at 11:34 PM on Monday evening. The siren sounded in the Ashkelon region and in areas along the northern border with Gaza.

Residents are reporting hearing multiple explosions and that Iron Dome launched at least two intercept missiles.

Update: Reshet Bet says Iron Dome successfully intercepted 2 rockets from Gaza.

Residents also report hearing IDF artillery shelling the Beit Hanoun area of Gaza in response.

So far, the IDF has confirmed that Iron Dome shot down one rocket launched from Gaza. The IDF is not yet saying if additional rockets were launched or not.

The IDF has also confirmed it hit targets in Beit Hanoun.

Islamic Jihad is taking credit for the rocket(s).
