Egypt, Jordan and Morocco plan to attend the U.S.-led ‘Peace for Prosperity’ conference to be hosted by Bahrain later this month.
The conference, set for June 25-26, will reveal the proposed economic centerpiece of the Trump administration’s “deal of the century” eventually to be rolled out.
Egypt, Jordan and Morocco informed Trump administration officials this week they will attend the conference, according to a White House official who spoke with reporters on Tuesday.
Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar have also confirmed their participation in the event in Manama, which may launch the economic piece of the Trump peace plan.
This is a major diplomatic victory for the Trump peace team, which was repeatedly snubbed by the Palestinian Authority, who tried desperately to pressure the rest of the region into boycotting the conference – even though it presents a clear advantage for all the citizens of the region.
