An Arab detained by Israeli police officers outside the Temple Mount, October 15, 2014.

The Jerusalem Police Spokesperson’s Office on Sunday reported that Jewish groups’ visits to the Temple Mount have proceeded peacefully during the start of the last week of Ramadan. Police have been on hand throughout the month to preserve law and order, which resulted, not surprisingly, in enhanced law and order.

Two Arab rioters attacked police officers on Sunday and were promptly arrested. The two were injured as a result of their arrest and received medical care on the spot. They were then taken to be interrogated and will face a judge when said interrogation is concluded.

It is possible, according to law enforcement experts, that using police to discourage Arab violence could continue to prove useful in the future, both on the Temple Mount and elsewhere.
