According to the IDF Spokesperson, the funeral of Sergeant Elhai Teharlev, 20, who was murdered by a ramming terrorist Thursday morning, will take place Thursday at 6:30 PM, at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
Teharlev, a of resident Talmon, in Judea and Samaria, served with the 13th Battalion of the Golani infantry brigade, as part of the Hesder Yeshiva tract, through the Tekoa Yeshiva. He graduated the Mekor Hayim Yeshiva in Gush Etzion. He was awarded the rank of Sergeant posthumously.
Elhai Teharlev was survived by his parents, Ohad and Avital, three brothers and three sisters.
The Rabbis of the liberal Orthodox Beit Hillel group issued a statement comforting the member of their board and Elhai’s father, Rabbi Ohad Teharlev, on his loss. Rabbi Teharlev is also dean of Midreshet Lindenbaum, an advanced institute for women’s Jewish studies. Elhai’s mother, Avital Teharlev, is deputy director of the Psychology dept. at the Ministry of Education.
