One of the American staff taking care of President Barack Obama’s visit put the wrong gas in the president’s limousine, disabling it and leaving officials scurrying for a replacement stored in Jordan.
The staff member, whose face should be red as a beet, apparently got mixed up between benzene and diesel fuel.
The president’s personal limousines arrived separately on one of two large C-17 cargo planes that also brought two of the president’s Marine One helicopters, Black Hawk helicopters, hundreds of security guards, and a “nuclear briefcase,” Yisrael HaYom reported Wednesday.
One of the limousines was supposed to wait for President Obama in Jerusalem, where he arrived by helicopter.
After the foul-up was discovered, before the president landed at Ben Gurion Airport, an American helicopter flew to Jordan to bring the second limousine. Details were sketchy, but it may have been the second of the president’s limo that was on hand for the president’s short visit there before he flies back home from Israel Friday afternoon.
The limo is an armored Chevrolet known as “The Beast,” as illustrated in the video below.
