The IDF stressed that it would continue to take action to neutralize threats against Israel and prevent Hezbollah from gaining strength in the region, in line with the ceasefire agreement’s provisions.
An IDF spokesperson stated: “Air Force fighter jets recently carried out precise strikes, guided by intelligence from the Intelligence Directorate, on two military sites in Lebanon containing Hezbollah weapons, which violated the ceasefire agreement.”
“The IDF remains committed to eliminating any threats to the State of Israel and will prevent Hezbollah from reestablishing itself or gaining strength, in accordance with the ceasefire understandings.”
“We will not allow the terrorist organization to rebuild and expand its capabilities,” the IDF statement read.
Arab media reported that IDF fighter jets targeted Hezbollah positions in the Nahr a-Zahrani area of the a-Tufah region, north of the Litani River, over 20 kilometers from Israeli territory.
Lebanese media also reported strikes in Janta, located in the Lebanon Valley, as well as east of Baalbek near the Lebanese-Syrian border—an area that had not been targeted by the IDF since the ceasefire with Lebanon took effect. Those IDF attacks took place several hours after Syrian government forces reported an exchange of fire with suspected Hezbollah operatives.
According to these reports, additional attacks took place across various locations in Lebanon, including Nabatiya, Nabi Sheet, and Baalbek, which lies approximately 70 kilometers from the Israeli border.
