The IDF reported Monday morning that Hezbollah targets that threatened the Israeli home front and military units were attacked, including a rocket launcher site and crossings on the Syria-Lebanon border that were used for the transfer of weapons.

According the IDF, the targets were attacked after a warning had been sent to the oversight mechanism for the implementation of the ceasefire deal between Israel and Lebanon, and was not addressed.
The raid was carried out against sites that the Lebanese Army was supposed to take care of after entering southern Lebanon, but this was not done, which forced the IDF to eliminate the arms and ammunition that threatened Israel.
In the meantime, the IDF is enforcing the rules of the ceasefire deal signed with Lebanon, and preventing any attempt to reestablish and strengthen the terrorist organization Hezbollah, in accordance with those understandings.
Middle East expert Prof. Amatzia Baram, of the University of Haifa, on Sunday told Maariv there is a historic opportunity for change in Lebanon, especially after the election of a new, legitimate president, the Lebanese Army’s former Chief of Staff Joseph Aoun.
“Hezbollah is being beaten by Israel, beaten by the fact that Assad has disappeared, beaten by the fact that the majority of the Lebanese public wants him to disarm and disappear,” said Prof. Baram, adding, “The election of the new president in Lebanon last Thursday is a very hard blow to Hezbollah. He is not a Hezbollah man, he is an independent president with a lot of prestige.”
Baram stressed that there is an Israeli and international interest in strengthening the new president: “We want him to be strong enough and gain enough prestige in Lebanon so that he can promote a law that requires Hezbollah to disarm.”
