A member of the Hezbollah terrorist organization who serves as a legislator in the Lebanese Parliament warned on Monday that the Iranian proxy will resume its war against Israel if IDF soldiers remain in the country when the current ceasefire ends.
“We do not want aid on conditions that would harm the resistance. France and the U.S. must understand that we will not accept that our red lines be violated, and that we are ready for everything,” Mahmoud Kamati said, according to a report by the Hezbollah-linked Al Manar news outlet.
“We will not accept the occupation of our land . . . We will be patient for 60 days (the ceasefire period) but on day 61, we will deal with Israeli forces (in Lebanon) as occupation forces and we will act accordingly,” he threatened.
Kamati is the deputy head of Hezbollah’s political council.
Israeli forces continue to search southern Lebanon for Hezbollah armaments and weaponry, all of which was supposed to be relocated by the end of the ceasefire period, together with the terrorist army to an area north of the Litani River.
Despite the agreement, however, it is clear that the thousands of weapons held by the terror group have remained in southern Lebanon, and still pose a threat to the State of Israel.
In the past week alone, during search operations by Golani soldiers and the Erez Program troops under the command of 769th Brigade in the Saluki region, the troops located a concealed storage facility in complex terrain in southern Lebanon. The storage facility contained a significant amount of weaponry, including launchers, missiles, and explosive devices.
In an additional raid on nearby buildings, Israeli military forces found many additional weapons, including missile launchers, explosive material, dozens of AK-47 rifles, grenades, wire-guided missiles, mines, surveillance equipment, explosive devices, and tactical combat gear.
The weapons storage facility was dismantled, and all seized armaments were confiscated by the troops. But the work is clearly far from over.
“We were patient in the face of the violations for the sake of the residents who returned to their villages in southern Lebanon, and today they are the ones asking us to respond to the violations,” Kamati claimed.
Residents of many villages in southern Lebanon have been repeatedly warned by Israel’s military not to return to their homes until the area has been cleared by the IDF.
Lebanese citizens who return to their homes in defiance of the IDF warnings, however, may in fact be members of Hezbollah – and as such, constitute a further violation of the agreement, which requires the terrorists to evacuate southern Lebanon up to the Litani River line.
