Members of the IDF’s 810th Brigade have uncovered multiple stockpiles of weapons atop the Syrian side of Mount Hermon.
The troops recently completed a brigade-level operation in the area, conducting operational raids on key terrain points to strengthen the defense of Israel, especially the residents of the Golan Heights.
The weapons stockpiles were discovered during searches of military structures and key terrain points in the area.
IDF troops confiscated and destroyed the weapons and intelligence assets, including mines, explosives, anti-tank missiles, rockets, and launchers.
As can be seen in the above footage, many of the weapons were still brand-new, carefully wrapped and packaged in wooden crates.
The IDF did not indicate who the weapons belonged to.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz viewed a display of tens of thousands of weapons confiscated from Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon during a visit Sunday morning to the IDF Northern Command.
Katz said during the visit that although the government is interested in upholding the current ceasefire agreement, if the terrorist organization does not withdraw to the area north of the Litani River, and if the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) does not dismantle all of Hezbollah’s weapons and terrorist infrastructure, “there will be no agreement and Israel will be forced to act on its own to ensure the safe return of the residents of the north to their homes.”
The Lebanese Armed Forces have thus far failed to fulfill their part of the agreement, and have not succeeded in clearing the area of terrorist weaponry and infrastructure.
