The Islamic Republic of Iran has begun to mass-produce a new line of tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) carrying smart bombs with high precision-striking power, according to state-run media.

These new weaponized drones, dubbed ‘Mohajer 6′ are to be delivered to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) ground forces deployed across the Middle East, including forces in Syria.

Iranian defense minister and the commander of Ground Forces, Brig.-Gen. Amir Hatami said in a speech celebrating the new weapons on Monday that the Mohajer 6 are “equipped with the smart Qa’em precision-striking bombs and different electro-optical explorers and different warheads, and can trace, intercept and destroy the target.”

Hatami was quoted by the FARS news service as saying the Qa’em can destroy different fixed and mobile targets in day and night missions and can infiltrate various types of installations and facilities.

Hatami added that the new drone is able to conduct different reconnaissance, patrolling and combat missions in distant areas and “enjoys high flight endurance.”

According to Iran’s state-run ISNA news agency, Iranian defense minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami stressed that the tactical unmanned aerial vehicle Mohajer-6 equipped with precision smart bomb was one of the important achievements of Iran’s defensive industry.

The Islamic Republic has so far unveiled various domestically produced drones, including Ababil, Fotros, Hazem, Karrar (long range attack drone), Mohajer, Sarir, Shahed 129, Yasir and Zohal. According to FARS, all of the Iranian drones have an operational range of approximately 3,000 kilometers.

Iranian-produced drones have been used in Syria to track and strike U.S. forces. They have also been used by Gaza’s ruling Hamas terrorist organization to conduct reconnaissance flights over Israel.

It is no stretch to imagine the day when the Mohajer 6 or similar technology might be gifted by Tehran to Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and/or Hezbollah terrorist organizations to assist their efforts to annihilate the Jewish State.
