Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah claims that the Palestinian Authority’s leading Fatah Faction has agreed to “activate a third intifada” in Judea and Samaria.
Nasrallah made the assertion during an interview with the Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen news channel after meeting with Al-Ahmad on December 31 in Beirut. He also said that Iran financed the recent wave of Palestinian Authority “protests” (read: riots and other violence) in the wake of Trump’s announced recognition.
Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad was representing the leading Fatah faction of the Palestinian Authority, both headed by Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, when he met with Nasrallah. Their meeting came the day after a general meeting between a major Palestinian Authority delegation and Lebanese officials who included Prime Minister Sa’ad Harir.
Among the topics on that agenda was U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Palestinian Authority official and Fatah deputy chairman Mahmoud Al-Aloul told The Media Line in an interview that his delegation met specifically with the Lebanese leadership, and not particularly with Hezbollah.
