Chabad-Lubavitch Yeshiva student Yosef Levi, z’l, died Wednesday in Mexico while swimming at the beach on the island of Cosumel, a mostly undeveloped island in the Carribean Sea famous for its scuba diving.

The 21-year-old victim was a resident of the southern Israeli city of Be’er Sheva.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry and the ZAKA organization are working with local Mexican authorities to facilitate release of the body for its timely return for burial in Israel.
