Lapid and Gantz united

New polls conducted by Israeli media on Thursday showed a very close race between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party and the new “Blue and White Faction” headed by former IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz and Yair Lapid.

But for the first time in this race, at least three of the polls showed Likud trailing behind Gantz and Lapid’s left-center faction.

A poll conducted Thursday by Channel 12 News showed the Blue and White Faction winning 36 seats, and Likud with only 30.

A Channel 13 News survey showed Blue and White with 36 seats, and Likud with 26.

Channel 11 News placed the two competitors a bit closer, but with Likud still behind Blue and White, 35 to 32.

Bayit Yehudi signed a merger Thursday night with the National Union and Otzma Yehudit parties. The new faction is called the ‘Union of Right Wing Parties.’
