According to a report published overnight Wednesday by Al-Jazeera, a general strike was declared in the city of Jenin, located in northern Samaria. The strike followed an operation in which six terrorists, including a senior member of a terrorist organization, were killed in an airstrike conducted by our forces using a Zik aircraft.

The Zik, also known as the Hermes 450, is a medium-sized, multi-payload unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by the Israeli defense company Elbit Systems. Designed for tactical long-endurance missions, it boasts a loitering endurance of over 20 hours, making it highly effective for extended operational deployments.

Eyewitnesses reported to Ma’an News that the Israeli drone launched three missiles targeting a group of individuals near the Return Roundabout in the Jenin “refugee” camp. The strike resulted in the deaths of six people and injuries to several others.

This marks the first time the IDF has carried out an attack in Jenin since the Palestinian Authority conducted an operation targeting militants in the city in December.

The Al-Jazeera report stated that the general strike was declared “to mourn the deaths in the Jenin refugee camp” and is set to begin on Wednesday. In Judea and Samaria, general strikes are often used as a form of solidarity and support for terrorism, as well as to mourn the deaths of terrorists and their leaders, including those associated with organizations in Gaza and Lebanon.

A mass funeral is expected for the slain terrorists, leading to the closure of shops across the city. Such processions are typically accompanied by incitement to terrorism, calls to carry out attacks against Jews, and the glorification of martyrs. In response, settlers in Judea and Samaria are calling for airstrikes to disrupt the terrorist marches while they are ongoing.

Meanwhile, during an overnight operation on Wednesday aimed at combating terrorism in the city of Qabatia south of Jenin in northern Samaria, an IDF David armored combat vehicle struck an explosive device planted by terrorists, resulting in a powerful explosion.

The blast seriously injured a soldier from the Kfir Brigade and a fighter from the Menashe Brigade. Additionally, a reserve fighter from the Kfir Brigade sustained minor injuries. All three were promptly evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment, and their families have been notified of their injuries.
