Following the rocket attacks and shelling from Gaza over the Sabbath, Home Front Command has issued an order to cancel studies in the Gaza Belt region, and in southern Israel.

Studies were canceled at Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Be’er Sheva, and at Sapir College in Sderot.

Train stations have been closed in Sderot, Netivot and Ofakim, and the railway lines between Ashkelon and Be’er Sheva are also shut down for the time being. Trains on the western Negev line (Ra’anana to Be’er Sheva) are beginning the route north of the Ashkelon station, Israel Railways said, due to security guidelines.

Public shelters have been ordered open in most of the cities in southern Israel.

Places of employment will function only if there is a bomb shelter or other protected space that can be reached within the standard window of time prior to rocket impact.

Gatherings of up to 300 people in closed areas are permitted, but not more; In addition, no shopping complexes are being allowed to open in a closed building for more than 300 people.

Earlier, Beersheba, Ashkelon, Omer, Ashdod, Netivot, Yavneh and Kiryat Malachi ordered the opening of all public shelters in the city, following the barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip, Walla! News reported.

The beaches in Ashkelon, including the National Park Beach, were closed to visitors and swimmers, and gatherings of more than 300 people are not permitted. Also, there will be no football games planned.

In addition, under an unusual directive, it was decided to close the Beit Guvrin National Park located in the Beit Shemesh area as well.
