A nurse takes care of an infant in a shelter at the Barzilai Hospital as a warning siren sounds for possible incoming rockets in the southern Israeli city of Asheklon.

Barzilai Medical Center was targeted Sunday by terrorists in a rocket attack from Gaza.

As increasing barrages of rocket exploded throughout communities in southern Israel, and reached into the city of Ashkelon, doctors and nurses hurried to evacuate newborns, pregnant women and new mothers from the maternity ward of the hospital – and barely in time.

Just seconds after the babies, new mothers and other patients had managed to reach safety, the hospital was hit by a rocket.

Miraculously, everyone was okay, even though the building was damaged.
