Shin Bet intelligence agents, IDF soldiers, Border Guard Police and Israel Police officers have tracked down and arrested the Palestinian Authority terrorists who murdered 17-year-old Rina Shnerb and wounded her 19-year-old brother Dvir and their father, Rabbi Eitan Shnerb on August 23 near the Ein Bubin Spring, it was released for publication.
All three of the terrorists are members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror organization.
The terror cell was arrested during a widespread arrest operation of IDF fighters in the Binyamin Regional Brigade. “The IDF will continue to work to maintain security in the area and act to thwart terrorist attacks and capture terrorists,” the IDF Spokesperson said.
In addition to their involvement in the planning and execution of the attack that led to Rina’s death and the injury of her father and brother, the three terrorists are suspects in other terror attacks carried out in the area as well.
Samer Mina Salim Arbid, 44, is a PFLP official in Ramallah. He was previously arrested for terrorist involvement during the second intifada under direct command of the PFLP leadership, preparing explosive devices and carrying out terror attacks.
Arbid set up and activated the IED that killed Rina.
Kassem a-Karim Ragach Shabli, 25, is a member of the PFLP. He has been arrested in the past for terrorist activity.
Shabli provided the explosives for the IED and helped to assemble it. He also participated in killing Rina.
Yazen Hassin Hassni Mjames, 25, a member of the PFLP, is also a resident of Ramallah. He, too, has a record of past arrest.
Mjames fully participated in the planning and execution of the attack.
A fourth member of the terror cell is named Nazam Sammy Yusuf Olad Muhammad, approximately age 21. He is a resident of Bir Zeit, and an activist with the “Shaz” student organization at Bir Zeit University, according to the Shin Bet.
The first three operatives planned to carry out several other terror attacks, primarily shooting attacks and kidnappings, according to the Shin Bet.
“During the interrogation it became know that a second IED existed as well; the bomb was found by security forces in the area where the attack took place; sappers disposed of the explosive at the site,” the Shin Bet said in its statement.
The investigation is continuing.
