Muslim worshipers at Lion's Gate entrance to Old City of Jerusalem

A 34-year-old female Israeli police officer was stabbed by an Arab terrorist late Thursday afternoon in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The attack took place in the area of the Purification Gate inside the Temple Mount compound.

The terrorist was neutralized other police officers at the scene. He was arrested and transferred to security personnel for interrogation.

“The injured police officer sustained wounds to her hand and remained fully conscious throughout,” said Magen David Adom paramedic Yaniv Yaffe. “I treated her at the scene and dressed the wound. At this stage she did not need to be evacuated to a hospital.”
